Position Summary: The Business Development Specialist will support membership growth, expanding community partnerships, and supporting the credit union’s production goals through training and outreach initiatives. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this role will train credit union staff to meet production and service benchmarks while building strong relationships with local organizations and businesses.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for empowering teams to succeed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Business Development
• Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to promote the credit union’s services and grow membership.
• Represent the credit union at outreach events such as community fairs, orientations, and financial education workshops.
• Act as a brand ambassador to increase visibility and membership in targeted markets.

Production Training & Staff Development
• Provide ongoing training to member service, call center, lending, and back office staff on sales techniques, product knowledge, and exceptional member service delivery.
• Conduct group workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and periodic refresher training to ensure staff is prepared to meet organizational goals.
• Partner with department leaders to identify skill gaps and create tailored training programs to address them. 
• Foster a collaborative and goal-oriented environment where staff feel empowered to succeed.

Production Support
• Work closely with staff across departments to help them meet production goals set by leadership.
• Monitor individual and team performance, providing actionable feedback and support.
• Collaborate with department managers to align training efforts with credit union objectives.

Reporting & Strategy
• Track and report on business development activities, production metrics, and training effectiveness to the Business Development Manager.
• Analyze performance data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Developing strategies to support overall growth and member satisfaction.

Qualifications
Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience accepted.
Experience:
    • 2-4 years of experience in business development, sales, or training (credit union or financial services background preferred).
    • Demonstrated success in coaching teams to achieve measurable sales and service goals.
Skills:
    • Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to motivate and train individuals across multiple departments with diverse roles.
     • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM systems.
     • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Other:
    • Willingness to travel locally for events and outreach.
